We recently purchased a bedroom set from Saugerties Furniture Mart. The product, Amish made furniture, was exactly what Jonathan, our salesperson, said. It was well built, how furniture in the past was made. More importantly, Jonathan was knowledgeable about the furniture, kind, and patient with our many questions. He made many suggestions which made the bedroom set much more useful - namely size, color, and configuration. After the furniture arrived, we noticed a slight blemish near a draw. He immediately arranged for two repair options. The first and easiest option worked perfectly - namely Steve, a long time employee came and completely repaired the dresser. I would recommend Saugerties Furniture Mart to anyone who wants an outstanding product, excellent service, and a store that totally stands by their merchandise. In this era with mail order dominating the market, it is a pleasure to deal with a local merchant who is reliable and pleasant. Buy local!

Omg this place rocks...i havent seen quality furniture like this in a long time. Pricey but graunteed worth every dollar... family run very polite and helpful with decision making. I cant wait to go back with my guy to buy the recliner and accent chair we've been wanting american made furniture . And built strong thats for sure you wont be sorry if you shop here!!!!

I had a wonderful experience with Saugerties Furniture Mart. From the quality of the furniture, to the very attentive, very knowledgable sales service, to the delivery, which was some of the best I have ever experienced. If you are looking for quality furniture from a place that knows exactly what they are doing and all of the ins and outs of their business, visit the store. You will not be disappointed.

I had been looking for well made furniture FOREVER! I stumbled upon this place on Facebook. From my first email Jonathan was amazing. I was looking for a specific kind of couch (which I of course found out ent out of business). But Jonathan assured me Id find something fabulous at their store. Boy did we! We found a couch, two chairs and an ottoman! We also had amazing help picking out cool funky fabrics that go beautifully with a crazy rug we have in our den. Jonathan has a GREAT eye!

Jonathan at Saugerties Furniture Mart worked really hard for us, to find a way to get exactly what we wanted. He has contacts at quality manufacturers, and over the course of a few weeks, he must have called them a dozen times, to ascertain if they can accomodate a series of different design and functional questions we had. He worked with us like a partner, and we came out with a somewhat unusual but totally perfect for us design! He has a nice aesthetic sense too, and was able to help us keep the vibe we wanted when picking hardware, and he really made a difference in that regard. I will send friends and will be back myself! Great service!

We had been looking for a new entertainment center for quite a while, but couldn't find one that met our needs. We had been searching online when we came across some that looked like they might be acceptable at Saugerties Furniture Mart. Plus, the web site said some of the items could be customized. We weren't quite sure to what degree that was possible, so we made a trip to the store to check things out. There we met Jonathan, who showed us some floor samples, and many others in several catalogs. None were exactly what we wanted, and that's when Jonathan explained that we could customize a unit to our exact specifications!I had brought along a sketch of what we wanted, and Jonathan sent that off to the furniture craftsmen for a quote, which he sent us a day or two later. Meanwhile, I had revised my thinking a bit, so we did another round of getting a quote.We were happy with the revised design and the quoted price, so we placed an order with Jonathan. He gave us an estimated delivery date.Our entertainment center arrived ahead of schedule, and it's beautiful. The craftsmanship is excellent, and the finish on the wood is a great match for our other furniture in the room.We're very pleased with our purchase and so glad we came to Saugerties Furniture Mart. Working with Jonathan was a pleasure.

I’d give 4.5 stars if it let me! Quality furniture from a local, old-fashioned business. Love my new sectional, and the delivery guys were serious professionals - less than 10 minutes start-to-finish, no noise, no scuffs, and polite and friendly. The owner can be a bit gruff when you first walk into the store, but he knows his business inside and out, and you can trust the quality you’ll find here.

We had a problem with a box spring causing the mattress to sink on one side which was promptly replaced by Russell at Saugerties Furniture Mart. Part of the issue was possibly due to the bed frame wooden support being a little too narrow to support the box spring. The delivery staff were very helpful in pointing this out. I commend them for that and my husband and I added extra wood to the bed support and this works very well. Thank you Russell, Cliff & Steve.

Once again Saugerties furniture has made me very happy. i would never buy furniture anywhere else. There selection is flawless from traditional to New York City chic. What i appreciated most from them is their ability to understand me as a customer and help me make the perfect decision. And i did it again. My newest sofa arrived today and is stunning. After 5 years of use, the lovely and durable living room furniture I purchased from Saugerties Furniture Mart still looks and functions like it did the day it arrived! So when it was time to purchase additional pieces, I made a beeline straight back to their extensive showroom. Co-owner and salesperson extraordinaire Jonathan Shapiro assisted my husband and me with a cheerful demeanor and the patience of a yogi. His expertise is unmatched, and his pressure-free approach is refreshing to say the least. We left with exactly what we were looking for— stylish, affordable, handmade furnishings and zero regrets. I’d recommend these folks a thousand times over!

My wife and I had a great experience. Johnathan helped us select a really nice bedroom set. Customer service was excellent. Delivery people were great. There store allows you to select each piece custom to your liking.

We could not be more pleased with our new custom sofa. We worked mostly with Jonathan, who supported us every step of the way (which included multiple visits and much indecision). Our new sofa was delivered earlier than expected and it is gorgeous. It was an investment, but will last for many years.

Saugerties furniture hung in with my wishy washy thought process and four visits. Hoping for the perfect sofa for my new home I ended up choosing exactly what Jonathan suggested on my first trip into the store. Showing him my collection of photos that appealed to me on line he understood me as a customer. He surmised i was not a traditionalist. I wanted quality. He helped me identify ...not to low, not too deep, a little bit shabby with a whole lot of chic. And in the end HE WAS RIGHT! My sofa arrived today and it is stunning. I was able to keep my business local and off line. Thank u Saugerties Furniture!

I am giving them 5 stars because it is literally the only furniture store within a two hour drive from NYC that sells Smith Brothers furniture. Note that once you buy it from them it is hard to get it delivered, but it is about the only furniture store east of Scranton that sells true quality goods.

I recently purchased 4 counter height stools from Saugerties Furniture Mart in Saugerties, NY. This was the very best experience not only am I delighted with the purchase but both the design and comfort of these Canadel counter stools is the very best. Jonathan Shapiro is a knowledgeable and informative person to work with. I never felt any pressure to purchase these items and in fact he gave us multiple suggestions on the design and options for this purchase. The quality of this product will last a lifetime. By 2018, I had concluded every manufacturer of anything just built cheaply and for obsolescence by next fall. So I was floored when Jonathan (third generation of this family business) showed us Smith Brothers' couches with double doweled, screwed and glued stress joints. Also, Rivertown's desks -- solid wood (who uses that anymore?), quartersawn white oak, dovetail drawers and pull out writing boards you'd want to leave out because of the craftsmanship. Jonathan knows his furniture cold. We bought a couch on the spot and will be back for a couple of desks.

This is one of the few furniture stores that sell quality wood pieces. They sell a Canadian brand that has high quality standards, and also furniture from a variety of Amish furniture makers. The staff is helpful and pleasant to do business with. They have a large selection, and the prices are reasonable considering the quality. On a price comparison, they priced about equal to the online Amish furniture stores in Lancaster PA.

The minute you walk in the door you can tell this is a special store. It looks much smaller that it really is from the outside. Inside the furniture just goes on and on. I visited 3 times before I bought and worked with both Jonathan and Russell, both were very patient and full of great ideas. I never felt like I was being "sold" and they really explained everything about the furniture and all the options, which were numerous. These guys are real furniture experts I don't know how they remember it all! I bought a Smith Brothers sofa and leather recliner and some GORGEOUS cherry end tables from one of their amish builders. I really liked the fact that they didn't pressure and I think their prices were very fair for the quality of the furniture. Delivery was on-time and the guys were very pleasant and careful in our house. I can't imagine why I would shop in another furniture store now that I've found Saugerties furniture.

What a great job. My wife and I had a difficult situation. A bizarre floor plan and an existing piece of furniture to pull in. I am so happy with the design they came up with and the fabrics are perfect. Everything in the store is "real furniture". Pieces you will have for decades. Wherever you are coming from, trust me its worth the trip.

We have just finished upgrading our television/family room. The furniture matched perfectly. With accent colored walls and trim, getting it all blended took a little effort. Jonathon was patient and helpful coordinating our fabric colors and patterns. The picture shows the excellent result but it truly does not do it justice.The furniture is of very high quality and therefore moderately pricey, but well worth the investment. We are heading back to the store today to speak with Russell and Jonathon to measure and order a Cherry wood desk and file cabinets for our study. We are quite pleased.

Well....whoever thought a mattress change could change my life.For the last 15 years I've had a tempurpedic like mattress that was very firm. My husband preferred that. Over the years I've had a fair amount of back/neck pain when I sleep, which would crossover to the day. I finally decided that it was time to get a new mattress to see if I could make a difference for myself. Jonathan Shapiro was very patient and the expertise that he shared really helped me to make the right decision. It was a pleasure to deal with him.The delivery was prompt and Cliff and John were very helpful in moving whatever needed to be moved in order to get the mattress in. They were also incredibly conscientious about not scrapping walls etc.I settled on the Plush Stearns and Foster mattress and from the very first night I sleep without pain. It's remarkable.

I have been meaning to write this review for over a year, but am just getting around to it and am glad I waited. I can attest to the fact that this furniture is beautiful, well made and can stand the test of time. My custom made sofa and recliner look as beautiful today, over a year later, as the day they were delivered. I believe in supporting hometown businesses, so SFM was the first place I went when I needed new furniture. We were met by the owner, Russell, who told us to look around and he would be available for any questions. First of all...the selection is amazing !!! My daughter and I literally spent hours there because of the amount of inventory they have. Immediately you can see that this is very high quality furniture, yet the prices are very reasonable and all the ones I looked at were made in the USA which was very important to me. Russell would catch up with us every so often, offering information and listening to what I was looking for. I finally decided on the sofa, then had to pick from the literally hundreds, maybe thousands of fabric swatches...wow!!! Loved the one I picked out, it has proven to be very durable with minimum care needed. I also bought a recliner to match, which I wasn't really planning on, but when Russell told me I could get it in the matching fabric of my sofa, I had to have it. And thank God I did...in June of 2014, I broke my ankle, had to have surgery and spent the next 4 months in that recliner...sleeping in it and all !!! Still looks brand new after all that wear and tear...Both the sofa and recliner are very very comfortable with just the right amt of firmness and support. Needless to say, I am very pleased with my furniture and my experience with Russell and SFM. Thank you so much for a great product that we will enjoy for years to come !!!

I have been shopping at Saugerties Furniture Mart for many years. I have always been impressed with their professionalism, customer service and quality merchandise. I would highly recommend them to anyone. Although I live over 60 miles from Saugerties, they are the only furniture store I will use.

I’m made several purchases from Saugerties and their furniture and service is great! I went to buy a new recliner and Russell remembered me buying my last recliner from him and he offered to get the parts to fix my old one for free. The recliner was 10 years old! My recliner has a few years of life left in it and when I need a new one this is the only furniture store I’ll shop at!
