As the business continued to grow, Russell redesigns and modernizes the showroom to improve the shopping experience.

Four Generations
Now, four generations of the Shapiro family have built onto the vision of Saugerties, finding joy in serving their customers and pursuing their interests in furniture.

More about the Shapiro’s
Saugerties Furniture is a family-run showroom guided by the Shapiro family’s second, third, and fourth generations. For more than 50 years, the store has served our village with dependable advice, quality furniture, and friendly service—values that continue to shape our future.
Jonathan Shapiro, with 20+ years in the business, leads the day-to-day and is in the showroom each week to help customers choose pieces that fit their homes and lives. Behind the scenes, our long-tenured team— including a delivery manager who’s been with us for 25 years—keeps the experience smooth from selection to setup.
Whether you’re visiting our historic corner storefront or exploring a styled room on the floor, you’ll find American-made furniture carefully chosen for lasting comfort, beauty, and value. We’re proud of the trust our neighbors place in us and we work hard to earn it with every visit.
“We sell better quality furniture: it lasts longer, meets your needs, and helps you enjoy your home to the fullest. Because we’re all family, we’re focused on making our customers happy.” – Jonathan Shapiro

Every piece of furniture we sell is built with quality materials and made to last.
